Packing is the part of moving that eats weekends. Boxes multiply, tape runs out, and the kitchen somehow takes an entire Saturday. Our packing help covers the boxing, labelling and stacking — for the whole house or just the rooms you dread — so moving day starts with everything ready to carry.

What the job covers

How we pack a house

Good packing is a system, not a scramble. One room at a time, working top to bottom: shelves and cupboards first, then surfaces, then the bulky remainder. Every box gets a room name and a short contents note on two sides, because boxes always end up facing the wrong way. Heavy items — books, tools, pantry jars — go in small boxes that stay liftable; duvets, pillows and soft toys fill big boxes that would otherwise be back-breakers. Breakables get wrapped individually and packed with padding top and bottom, never loose where they can knock together.

The kitchen gets the most care because it holds the most breakage per square metre. Plates pack on edge, glasses stand upright with padding between, and sharp things get sheathed and marked. Wardrobes move fastest when clothes stay on hangers in batches; drawers can often travel as they are in solid dressers, with loose bits bagged. Electronics get cables bagged and labelled per device — the ten minutes of labelling saves an hour of untangling later.

Full pack or part pack

Some households hand over the lot: every room, every cupboard, done while they get on with work and family. Others just want the hard parts covered — the kitchen, the fragile shelves, the garage workbench — while they box up clothes and toys themselves. Both work. If you are part-packing, start early with the easy rooms and leave us the breakables; if you want the full job, all we need is access and your say on what travels and what does not.
